In April 2022, I graduated from Western Michigan University with my Masters of Social Work. Since graduation, I have been an Assistant Director for mental health counseling for a local college in Grand Rapids. In April of 2019 I graduated from Western Michigan University with my Bachelors of Social Work. In October of 2019, I had the opportunity to travel to New York for a Dialectical Behavioral Therapy facilitator training. After completing the training, I am now qualified to facilitate DBT lessons for adolescents. The lessons can also transfer to younger children. I have been a babysitter for 6 years for family and friends. The youngest child in my care, was just under a year, and the oldest child was 10 years old. During the summer of 2015 after my freshman year of college, I nannied for a family with two children who were 4 and 7. At times I would need to babysit while nannying, putting 4 children under 11 in my care. I enjoy anything related to crafts, books, movies, learning, and fun! I try to incorporate age-based skills in fun ways, to encourage an excited mindset about learning! When able, and with permission, I enjoy taking the kids to libraries, playgrounds, museums, movies, and places for treats (ice cream shops). Discipline is sometimes needed, so for that I look to the parents on what discipline tactics they use, as each child is and responds differently. (I will NOT use physical punishment.) 8 years ago, my sister was diagnosed with Leukemia. Through that, I know how to care for children going through cancer treatments. While the kids are asleep, I tend to clean around the house without being asked or told. Some cleaning tasks include: folding the laundry, cleaning the kitchen, cleaning the living room, and if a parent/guardian asks for a specific task to be completed, I ensure the task is completed right. My pay rates are based upon the suggested pay rate of 6-9 years of experience at 15 hours. The rate may change depending on the hours, amount of extra work, and length of drive.
