Hello! My name is Jenny. I have been working with children all my life, some would say I am a child at heart myself. I have a Bachelor's degree in psychology and sociology, and am applying for my masters of occupational therapy this year. After I obtained my degree I began working and teaching in elementary and middle schools with children who have special needs. I am especially knowledgeable with autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, behaviour and learning disorders. I will do MORE than just watch your child, I adore teaching, playing, and interacting with all varieties of children. I am sensitive to the needs of your child and can help engage them in play, teach concepts such as social skills and problem solving, and create a supportive environment in which they feel safe, receptive to learning and encouraged to be their best self. I am most experienced on the curriculum for preschool, kindergarten and grade 1 and 2. I believe in the power of play and creating strong, caring and supportive adult-child relationships. If your child is non-verbal I have experience using assisted communication technology. If your child is Deaf or hard-of-hearing I am able to sign beginner level American sign language.
