Hello, my name is Devon. I'm 24 years old and working with children is my specialty. I am a current student at Missouri State University, attending to receive my Bachelor's degree in Cross Categorical Special Education. I have obtained an Associates Degree of Science, Child Development and multiple certificates within the last year. I have nine years of experience providing supervision and guidance to children within daycare, before and after-school programs, and private home settings. I am highly accomplished in creating educational and recreational activities designed to develop children’s psychological, emotional, physical, behavioral, and social skills. Experience: I have experience working with children of all ages and have trained with those that are typical and atypical. I am up to date on all of my immunizations. Boys & Girls Club: I am currently working at the Boys and Girls Club as a Program Leader. The Boys and Girls Club is a non-profit after school program; we are dedicated to academic success, good character & citizenship, and healthy lifestyles. By incorporating the Club’s Formula for Impact. The BGC is setting goals to ensure we offer the best Club environment by having a safe and positive atmosphere; ensuring the kids have fun; offer supportive relationships with staff; give expectations and offer opportunities; and most of all, recognize our members. Next-Generation Educational Center: I planned and implemented a dynamic curriculum and fun learning activities incorporating the latest research in Emotional Cognitive Social Early Learning. I helped design creative themed lessons and deliver high-energy instruction in all preschool subjects (math, science, language arts, social studies) to classrooms of up to 15 children in an inclusive setting. I fostered a warm, nurturing and fun atmosphere conducive to learning. I developed strong, lasting relationships with parents and children. I led play-based lessons and skill-building activities in language arts, math, social studies and science disciplines for pre-K and kindergarten students under master teacher’s guidance. I made content engaging and accessible for diverse learners that included special needs (e.g., autism spectrum, ADHD) and general-population students. I absolutely love kids, they're my passion and making sure they're happy, safe, and healthy is an ultimate goal of mine.
