Hello! I am a mother of one eight-year-old girl, and take her with me wherever I go, outside of school or extracurriculars. She loves getting around other children, as she is an only child. I adore little tikes of all varieties, and have so much fun getting to know them and how they tick! I easily fall in love with new personalities and helping them however they need it. I keep a tidy home, but a fun one. I ensure children understand the importance of fun in learning, and learning in fun. In other words, I do not just turn the television on all day and put kids in front of it. No way! If television is on, it'll be something educational; teaching little tikes colors, numbers, the alphabet, or whatever they are ready to learn next. I do love to get down on the ground and play blocks, cars, paint nails, sing songs, or whatever they enjoy doing. Once again, I really just love children! Not only do I have a child of my own, but I had three other siblings, growing up. One was four years younger than me, so I really got to learn the importance of taking care of a child. I speak kind, and never use foul language on my own time even, so you can be sure your child won’t pick up on bad words from me. Since I have a daughter of my own, and a younger brother, I have no problem with dirty diapers, and change them when they need to be changed! I don’t like leaving children soiled and uncomfortable. I know if I did that with my own child she ended up getting a very sad rash for days. No need to let that happen. When the weather is nice, I love to go out for walks. Making sure children do not get sunburned, I always carry child’s sunscreen on me. I also love to take children to parks, as I believe in outdoor fun being very therapeutic and good for them. I also enjoy feeding children healthy, tasty foods. I do not believe in a lot of junk food, but am not so strict as to never give it. There’s a time and place for all sorts of food! If your child is potty training, I would like to be notified as to your routine, so I can stick to it the same. I do not mind potty training kids! Another thing is that even though I am a kind, fun, loving individual, I do not allow myself to be walked all over. When I take care of others’ children, I treat them as if they were my own. Even with my own daughter, I speak to her in a kind, respectful, patient tone, but if she is not listening, obeying, or wishing to cooperate, I get a bit bolder so she understands I mean business. I understand that is how kids sometimes need to be spoken to in order to understand you need them to do something. However, I do not believe in physical punishment, and am even quite slow to place a child in time out. I have placed my own child in time out less than what I can count on my fingers in her entire lifetime and have always received much praise for how well-behaved and intelligent she is. Communication is key! Basically, I have plenty of experience with children, and a love for them as well. So, if you are looking for a good sitter that will not only know how to take care of your child(ren) but also bring fun and learning, and whatever else you and your loved ones need, I am a mighty fine choice!
