Sitter in Lancaster, California

Hello! My name Is Alicia and I am an experienced mother of 4 children ages 8, 6, 4 and 1. I have worked with children most of my life. I began as a babysitter when I turned 12. When I was 15 I started volunteering at my older sisters work at a military AF base youth center. When I turned 18 I started working at a Military AF base Teen Center, where I worked at over a year before transferring to a before and after school program, because the Teen Center was being closed for reconstruction. I only worked at the school age program for about 6 months because we moved to a different military base where I got a job working on the base at the Child Development Center for almost 3 years. Here I worked with children ranging in ages of 6 weeks to 5 years of age. I completed the 15 Air Force early childhood NAEYC modules for Infant and Toddlers and stayed up to date on CPR and First Aid. I had my first child and quit my job to enjoy being a mother. Soon after we moved again and I was a stay at home mother for sometime, as I had two more children while at this base. While a stay at home mom I started babysitting for families in my home. I was babysitting up to 3 separate family's children at different times of the day. After moving from that base to yet another, I got a job at a hospital and worked there as a nurses assistant for over two years. This is where my husband retired from the military and we moved to the west Lancaster, CA area. Since moving here I have had trouble finding a job, so I decided to start babysitting again, since I know it is something I have always loved to do. I have a Bachelors of science double major in Environmental Science and Social Science with two certifications in Diversity Awareness and Applied Behavioral and Social Science. I am currently going to Graduate school and pursuing a Masters in Public Health, with National University (online). I am also my daughters Girl Scout troop leader and have a current background check via the Girl Scout organization that I can show you upon request. My CPR and First Aid has expired last month unfortunately, but I have taken these course and classes for over 10 years with my past employments and am still skilled in this. I also will be renewing it soon for my daughters Girl Scout troop. My two oldest children go to Westwind Elementary and my 4 year old is now in preschool in the morning session at Sunnydale. I'm available for early morning drop offs at school if your child goes to the same as mine. I can also babysit throughout the day, I have a very large van and extra carseats/ booster seats. I am available to babysit in my home during the day and overnight; I have a spare bedroom. My husband, an AF Vet of 21 years, works for Lockheed Martin on Edwards AFB and also has a lengthy background check on him as well required for his job. So for piece of mind we are both background checked and screened with good driving records. I can babysit in your home but will need to bring my one year old and possibly my 4 year old depending on the time of day.
