I'm a 20-year old college student and I have nearly 10 years of experience as both a babysitter and a nanny, in addition to experience working in a professional daycare setting. I love working with children and I challenge myself to get to know the kids in my care on a personal level. Some kids are quick to open up and latch on to you; others are more reserved, and it takes a little more effort to draw them out of their shell. Either way I enjoy the process, and the bonds formed between myself and the kids I take care of are well worth the effort. I don't shy away from getting hands on with kids and I try and engage them and their interests. I'm an experienced cook and baker, so with budding chefs I have fun working together to whip up something delicious in the kitchen. Other things I've done with kids include bike rides, arts and crafts, going to the park, swimming, and painting nails. In addition to my experience working in a daycare and as a babysitter/nanny, I have worked as a teacher's aide for kindergarten students and as a tutor for middle school students (grades 5-8), so helping kids with schoolwork is something I am very comfortable with.
