Education Elim Christian College Auckland, New Zealand High School Diploma Graduated: 2015 Gateway Program Auckland, New Zealand First year interning nurse 2014 Work Experience Feb 2011 – Nov 2014: Babysitter Auckland, New Zealand Responsibilities: • Cared for two children, aged eight years old and eleven years old (at the time of starting). • Carried out daily activities to meet the children’s physical and emotional needs, i.e. helping them complete their weekly homework, walking them to the park to help them practice their sports, as well as being there for them when they needed a role model or someone to talk to. • Prepared and served meals and snacks for not only the children but also their friends as well as engaging the youngest, girl, in various baking activities. • Making sure the children were bathed and ready for bed on time. • Played many games with the children and took them on walks/around the neighborhood or to the beach. • Organized DIY activities for both the boy and girl to keep them entertained and creative. Jan 2011 – Dec 2015: Volunteer in church childcare Auckland, New Zealand Responsibilities: • Cared for children under the age of two in groups of up to ten children. • Prepared and served morning snacks and bottles for the children. • Oversaw playtime and made sure they were safe being away from their parents. • Cared for a small group of up to twelve varying in ages from eight through twelve. • Took children on outings and fun life group activities. • Organized games and other entertainment during the church services. • Wrote out sermons that applied to the children’s lives, as well as though provoking questions to keep them engaged. • Cared for a life group of about eight girls weekly on Sundays. • Organized fun outing for the girls throughout the week. • Met with the girl’s one on one throughout the weeks keeping up with their emotional needs. • Drove the girls around when they were unable to get places by themselves. • Organized mini productions and family life groups to keep the parents involved with their child’s life. Feb 2014 – Nov 2014: First year nursing intern Auckland, New Zealand Responsibilities: • Took care of many patients in a nursing home . • Helped the patients with daily activities like feeding, dressing, bathing, using the bathroom and transportation around the facilities. • Made sure the residents had clean bedding every morning. • Ensured the residents took any required medication. • Organized “fun time” for the residents where they could laugh and enjoy each other’s company. March 2014 – Sep 2014: Housekeeper Auckland, New Zealand Responsibilities: I worked for a family friend twice week housekeeping as she had a large family and was very busy. • This included washing, drying and folding laundry • Deep cleaning the bathrooms once a week • Washing the windows • Tidying up living spaces and deep cleaning the kitchen Feb 2014 – Nov 2015: Peer support leader in high school. Auckland, New Zealand Responsibilities: • Had a multi-gendered group of twelve through fourteen teenagers that I met with every week. • Picked up one of the boys so he didn’t have to walk a long distance to school every day. • Prepared snacks for the teens as well as activities and games for each meeting. • Organized fun nights out for them to be in a good encouraging community. Jun 2016 – Sep 2016: Camp counselor/ Rec staff Poulsbo, Washington Responsibilities: • I was a counselor or up to fourteen girls for one week at a time, six times throughout the summer. • Leading the girls in daily responsibilities like making sure they were up on time, made it to meals on time, bathed after swimming in the lake and where in bed asleep at a reasonable time. • Encouraging the whole color team to go one step further than they thought they could in activities such as high ropes or dirt bikes. • Dealing with disagreements and rivalries between boys and girls in our color teams. • I did a lot of housekeeping throughout the summer and can complete almost any housekeeping task very fast and efficiently. • I also hosted guest groups which entitled making sure the cabins where up to their standards, they had everything they needed throughout the week and that we gave them the best experience we could. Qualifications/certifications Current First Aid Certificate I have a current NZ driver’s license and am going for my full Washington State license Interests • Cooking and baking- I had my own side business in New Zealand making and decorating cakes for birthdays, work functions or even weddings. I also love to cook different authentic foods, mainly Mexican. • I love to travel and have lived in many different locations including Auckland, New Zealand; Jamaica; Romania; Matamoros, Mexico; Rockford, Illinois; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and now Washington USA. • Reading- I spend a lot of my free time buried in many different kinds of books or at book stores. • Sports- I played football in high school, I competitively speed skated in inline roller blading, I grew up riding motorbikes and I enjoy many other sports. • I love the beach; it is like a second home to me as I grew up every day on the water: surfing, water skiing, swimming, boating and fishing.
