My name is GoddessMother and I'm a very young 52 year old mother of three. I rock in babysitting children with .ASD I have a ASD nine year old. I have worked in daycare centers in the early to late 1980's with special needs children in my classrooms and in my home. People shy away from babysitting jobs for special needs children and that is not cool at all..... experience with special needs children run from autistic to seriously delayed. To me children are children. TRUE STORY: There was a little boy in my class back in 1999 he had braces on his legs and was visually impaired he also wore diapers. He was bright and a different learner. He was about four years old and well aware that his parents and the other teachers were easy to manipulate.Before the preschool year was over he was not wearing diapers. He also would use I CANT when he did not want to perform a task, that changed to I wanna. His parents and grandma were amazed at his progress..... has been a while since I worked with special needs children, but I'm the mother of one. And I FULLY understand how protective we can be. WE are their voice. I was firm yet very loving with him on everything.
