I have knowledge of kids psychology and development needs. I am Mother of two boys ages 2 and 6 and love spending time and educating kids. Both my son learnt full alphabets and recognition of colors, numbers 1 to 10 at the age of 18 months. My eldest son started to read fluently at the age of 3. MY FOCUS: • Establishing routine with children by following a well planned schedule (Breakfast, Group Time, Learning, AM Snack, Active Story Time, Creative Movement, Fine & Gross Motor Skills, Lunch, Nap Time, Quite Play, PM Snack) • My focus is to not only provide care for children but to prepare them for school and use time effectively by educating them and making sure that kids excel in school. LEARNING ASPECTS: Social and Behavioral Learning To teach them social and Behavioral skills I implement strategies and principles that are used by industry professionals. • I teach and maintain discipline in my classroom by teaching them social, Moral and Behavioral skills such as: Sharing, Honesty , Being Polite, Making Friends, Respecting Each Other's Values, Controlling Emotions, Giving their Peers personal space when needed and learn to be independent in every aspect. • To teach them Social Skills such as Giving Gift, Helping Others, Greeting Someone, When Do they say "Excuse Me" or "Sorry" and etc, I create short and simple Social Stories for them to learn from. • To teach them how to control their emotions I use visual and color graded Voice Scale Strategy • I use First and Then strategy to teach kids transition from one activity to another. For kids in school, it will help them to easily move from one activity to another. They understand the concept of finishing one task and shift their attention to other task accordingly. I use different tools to teach them these concepts such as use of visual timers. • I implement Reward Strategy to enforce discipline and build good habits. In my daycare, we focus on positive behaviour. Kids are rewarded and appreciated upon showing positive behavior. I use visual Behavior charts of children. All these strategies, I have used in past and it has shown great results. Academic Learning My focus is also to have kids interested in learning and reading by spending time in fun and engaging activities. We will be using different methods such as Each week will have a different theme in my daycare, we will use Books, Watch Educational Videos and Documentaries, Educational toys, Charts, Boards, Arts and Crafts, Stories, Music, Nature walks and Play Outside (Weather permitted) and etc,. to learn following concepts: • ABC recognition • Color recognition • Patterns, Shapes and Sorting Skills • Number recognition • Addition and Subtraction • Reading Skills and establishing comprehension of reading material • Show and Tell to establish early presentation skills and build confidence in children • Fine and Gross Motor skills • Fun and Educational Science Projects • Plants and Animals • Fruits and Vegetables • Learn about things in Nature and their functions • Living and Non- Living Objects • Days of Week • Name of Months • Names of Seasons • Learning and celebrating different holidays and events Spaces are limited.
