I have been in the business of caring for children since I was a child myself, spanning 30 years of my life!! My own children are 22, 14, and 13. I have run a daycare in previous years, went secular, had my own bookkeeping service, and have now gone back to taking care of little children in my home once again. I started watching children in my home after having all of my own children and dealing with the issue of non flexible hours, cost of kids who were not in care due to illness and having to still pay for the days, and the high cost of infants. So please know that I have to set some standards, but I am open for dialog and negotiation based on individual family situations. I keep it very simple. I work with the kids on crafts, learning letters and numbers, speak bits of Spanish to them, and work on potty training .. all in a bit of an unstructured format. This is the same as I did for my children, who all entered kindergarten able to write their own names, identify letters and numbers, speak English and Spanish, could identify a good number of "sight words", could count items and do some basic arithmetic (i.e totalling multiple groups of objects), and were all successfully potty trained by 2 years old (the girls both by 15 months). I will support you and your child at the age you choose for potty training, that is something I chose to do very early for my own children, but support my families on their schedules for that particular bit of training. I provide breakfast, lunch, and a snack for all full-time children. I am available Monday through Friday 6:30 am to 5:30 pm. I do understand the challenges of traffic, so I am flexible on the drive home as need may be. Full day care is $30/day, to be paid at the beginning of the week. I do not charge additional for babies vs toddlers; I simply ask that baby food items, wipes, diapers, and formula be provided by my parents. I am open to part-time care with negotiation for price per day based on hours of care or number of days per week. A full day is any day I have your child(ren) 5 hours or more. I do not charge for sick days or vacation days up to a total of two weeks per year outside our negotiated regular days for care. In full disclosure: I am currently living in a new subdivision that is finalizing the build of the last home, which happens to be next door, so there is a minor challenge for another month or so with that, and we have yet to build out our back yard as we have been waiting for construction to complete around us. It has not been a problem with the children I am caring for now, just a bit of a nuisance a couple of times when the construction crews' vehicles got to be a more than just a couple, but construction is nearing its completion so that truly should not be an issue any further. Also, we have one little black chicken, I mean KITTY, who lives with us but hides from the kids all day. She does not live on our furniture. She is a bit stingy with her attention, even with us, in fact. She basically walks the perimeter of the inside of our home roaming from window sill to window sill all day. We do not allow her to go outside and bathe her regularly. My oldest daughter and I are both allergic to most cats and have no reaction to her!! I also have passed on the love of working with and caring for children to my girls. They are 13 and 14 and have cared for children in our home as well as in the homes of the children they have looked after. They are both available Friday 4pm through Sunday 6pm for any hourly babysitting. During the holidays there are more social activities than during other times of the year, since I am watching children in the home all week I am leaving these events to the girls to cover. They really love being around children and children have always been drawn to them. These girls will entertain and tire out your little ones all in one blissful evening/day long babysitting adventure.
