Sitter in Peoria, Illinois

I am a nurse with extensive childcare experience all ages. I live in Peoria, & I am happy to commute for the right family & job. I have my own transportation & am a non-smoker. I also love pets. I have been registered nurse for 7 years, currently taking some time away from the bedside. As a nurse, I specialized in care of children (mostly premature and/or with cardiac defects). I am CPR certified & have actual CPR experience with adults & children. Prior to being a nurse, I was a nanny for the same family for 8 years. I also have had babysitting experience for about 16 years, as I started babysitting an infant when I was 12 years old & was babysitting 4 children at one time, including one infant, when I was just 13 years old. I have quite a large family, with 12 nieces & nephews that I care for often, so I am very experienced caring for children of all ages. I even have experience caring for triplets that were born 13 weeks early, caring for them in the NICU, & after they were discharged. The family I currently care for no longer will be needing me, as the aunt is moving in & will be caring for the children (a 7 month old girl, a 7 yr old boy, & a 10 yr old boy). The mother has already given permission to provide potential employers with her information. I am very flexible when it comes to schedules, even with last minute changes. I am happy to do housekeeping and/or laundry. I am a pretty good cook, as well. I enjoy reading to children (books and poetry), singing, taking walks, building forts, playing games, & spending time at the park. I am familiar with different parenting methods & am prepared to learn & follow the parenting & disciplinary methods used with the children. I truly love caring for children & know I can be an asset for the right family. My goal in caregiving is always to give the parents peace of mind & decrease their overall stress level by providing great care & making sure not only the children are taken care of, but the home is taken care of as well.
