Sitter in Huntington Beach, California

Hi there! My name is Amanda. I am a 21 year-old, full time college student currently at Long Beach City College. I plan to transfer to CSU Long Beach soon and major in hospitality. I love to work with people and help them in any way I can. One day I hope to be an event coordinator so that I can help people bring their dream weddings/parties/events to life. In my free time, I love going to Disneyland, baking/cooking, going to the beach, and watching movies. I have a weekend job at a dessert bakery, where I take dessert orders to their destination. I get to set the dessert tables up at weddings and other events, and make the desserts look their best. I love this job because people are always get so excited when I show up with all of their desserts. It's very satisfying to know I helped bring a little joy to someone on what could be a very stressful day. On Sunday mornings I go to the bakery early so I can set up all the desserts for the shop that day. I grew up in Northern California in Sonoma County. I moved down to Long Beach for school, and because I knew there would be more opportunities for me in Southern California than there are in my small hometown. I have been involved in sports my whole life. I started out playing baseball and soccer, moved onto softball, and finally I became a cheerleader in sixth grade and continued cheering all throughout high school totaling 8 years. I was honored to be a captain for two years on my high school cheer team. Being on the team made me very involved in school, both academically and socially. I learned a lot about teamwork, leadership, the importance of having strong family-like bonds, and a lot of other life skills I believe everyone should learn. Previously, I worked in a sit-down restaurant and was a nanny at the same time for two years and babysat on the side until i moved down. While I was a nanny, I was working morning and some afternoons to pick up and drop off one 6 year old boy. My responsibilities were to be at the house by 4:30 am, wake him up, feed him breakfast, get him dresses, pack a lunch, and sometimes pick him up after school. I have babysat kids from newborns-about 11 years-old. The most children I've watched at one time was 5. Then I worked at a quick service type of pizza restaurant until I found my bakery job, which makes me so much happier. I realized a little while back I missed babysitting and felt I should try to get involved again. Hopefully I am able to help a family by taking some stress out of their day. Whether it be picking up or dropping off the kids at school, cleaning up the house a little, feeding the kids, or taking the dog for a walk, I'm willing to help as much as I can. My current availability is Monday-Thursday all day, Friday evenings, and Sunday evenings. I have my own reliable transportation that has room for three in the back, and if they are old enough, one front passenger. I look forward to being able to help out your family!
