Hello, parent(s)! I'm Marenda, a 16-year-old, teen caregiver and maybe your new babysitter! I'm a home school graduate and I'm taking a gap year to save money for college, so my schedule is really flexible. I can work early morning to late night and any time slot in between there. I’m trained to a red belt in Tae Kwon Do, so your kiddies would always be perfectly safe with me! Your children are very precious and their happiness is extremely important to me. They deserve the same love, attention, and care that you give them, even when you can’t be there to provide it. As parents, your children come first in life and you need to put them under the watch of someone patient, kind, strong, and dedicated. I’ll be that person in your children’s lives and you can finally go on that date you’ve been wanting to, knowing they’re in great hands. I've worked as a volunteer at the Girl Scout camps Misty Mountain and Camellia Rose, and from these years of working, I have a lot of experience with children ages 2 to 14 years old. I work well with infants and younger children, especially, and I enjoy coming up with fun activities to keep all ages busy. I love arts and crafts and I find sports enjoyable (though I'm not very good at them). I enjoy playing outdoors and indoors, whatever the kids like to play. I grew up playing make-believe, Barbies, and an assortment of other games with my sisters and my neighbors, so I’m well versed in the area of games. Aside from that, I know a lot of fun games and I play them frequently with the children I work with at camp. I’m an actress in the making, so I love to play the part of the prince, the princess, the villain, or whatever other character they want for their game with all the realism I can muster! When it’s rainy out or the weather is just plain bad, I love to read aloud to them to keep their minds busy. I can do voices and accents to keep them entertained and engaged in the story and keep them giggling and gasping the whole book. I’ll keep TV and electronic time as limited as you want it to be and I guarantee your babies won’t be bored with me around! I can bring some of my board games and activities from home or let the kiddies show me their favorites and teach me how to play them. I'm CPR and First Aid certified and I've taken formal babysitter training in the past. I'm capable of preparing and cooking snacks and meals and I'm happy to do small chores while the children are sleeping or busy with activities. I'm comfortable with changing diapers and/or pull-ups, helping small children in the bathroom, cleaning up after kids or pets, helping them with homework, and putting children down for naps or bed time. I would love the opportunity for further experience and to be able to work with your tykes, no matter their ages.
