I am a spry and loving elder who has been an educator in her lifetime career....although I have BA degrees in Economics and French since I DID NOT WANT TO BECOME A TEACHER OR A NURSE. Ironically, after returning to Northern USA from the Peace Corps in 1967, I was offered and accepted a teaching position at a very very poor public school across the street from the city jail!!! I LOVED MY JOB AND was able to help some very very poor African-American children develop the skills to live their lives with KNOWLEDGE and UNDERSTANDING as well as skills to become successful in the working world...which many of their parents and older siblings had not been able to do! I LOVED my work and went on to teach at all levels of education until 1986 when I opened a school in my home, since I birthed a "late baby" and the school system wouldn't allow him to come to the school with me!!!....So I left public school and started Swan Educational Center Global which I operated for more than 30 years from 1986 to 1999 when I came to Asheville and taught in the public schools. In 2001, I reopened Swan Educational Center Global here in Asheville, taking my students to businesses so that could hear what the owners of businesses went/go through in order to earn the money that they do. We also took adventures around town and to environmentally conscious venues! I birthed and raised 3 children of my own who have all been successful at their jobs of choice and live on the West Coast and in Boston, MA! Thank you so much of your consideration of my skills....Also I am in perfect health and am quite spry and agile....and hopefully becoming more and more WISE!!! LOL
