Sitter in Portland, Oregon

I'm an
Individual
The childcare system that exists doesn't make any sense. Especially if you are a single parent, like myself. It's impossible to make more than minimum wage when most of your hourly is going to mediocre childcare. And if you're in school you better have a family member around because there are almost no resources for single moms in school. The whole situation feels to me like trying to swim upriver. I'm finished with just scraping by with government aide and child care that is not helping my daughter grow and learn the way I know she has to potential to. The strangest part of this broken system is I know there is a pretty large group of people who live around me that are feeling the same way as I am -- over-tasked, broke and at a loss. My proposal is that we find each other and create a mutually beneficial, moneyless, adaptable childcare group. I would like to connect with my neighbors to discuss alternative childcare options that will benefit ourselves and our children the absolute most. I have an amazing 3, almost 4, year old daughter and I go to school 9 am-3pm Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. I would love to work with children while I'm not in school to teach art, reading, math, music and nature. I am well versed in health and nutrition as well (my daughter has never consumed soda or fast food and we eat mostly vegan). It takes a community to raise a child. Call or text me if you're interested in being part! (775)450... Audie
