Beverly Hills Aquatics is currently hiring for the following four positions for the summer 2016 swim season: * SWIM CAMP DIRECTOR * POOL MANAGER * SWIM CAMP COUNSELOR * LIFEGUARD/SWIM INSTRUCTOR This is an amazing opportunity for those who love children and can share their spark of energy with them. We are looking for individuals with high energy and enthusiasm for swimming. We are helping to grow and develop the young minds of children ages 4 - 14 years. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE Swim Camp Counselor and Lifeguard/Swim Instructor - Applicants do not need to have previous teaching and/or camp experience however a swimming background and the ability to connect with children are both a MUST. Swim Camp Director and Pool Manager - Applicants must possess prior managerial experience as well as a swimming background and the ability to connect with children. APPLY FOR JOB Please send a letter of interest and resume toAGE REQUIREMENT * Swim Camp Counselor and Lifeguard/Swim Instructor - Applicants must be at least 17 years old by May 31, 2016. * Swim Camp Director and Pool Manager - Applicants must be at least 18 years old by May 31, 2016. A valid picture ID showing proof of age will be required in order to interview. COMPENSATION Swim Camp Counselor and Lifeguard/Swim Instructor $10.50 - $15.50 (based on experience) Swim Camp Director and Pool Manager $16.00 - $22.00 (based on experience) Please note this is a part-time/seasonal position, with no additional compensation/benefits. GENERAL DUTIES Please inquire within regarding specific duties for each of the four available positions. Below is a list of general duties for all positions: * Assumes responsibility of safety of participants * Serves as positive role model for youth and shows a genuine interest in participant * Recognizes and performs aquatic emergency rescues, administers artificial respiration, CPR, and first aid, when necessary * Performs other duties, as assigned * Have fun! MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) Knowledge of: * Water safety practices * Effective customer service techniques Skilled in: * Lifeguarding, first aid and CPR techniques * Reading, writing and communicating in English at an appropriate level Ability to: * Teach proper swimming techniques and water safety * Perform lifesaving techniques * Establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with City employees and the public * Swim with proficiency and endurance * Provide effective customer service EDUCATION, TRAINING, & EXPERIENCE Must be currently enrolled in high school or the equivalent, or possess a high school diploma/GED. College student preferred. Licenses and Certificates: Possession of a valid American Red Cross or state recognized certificate in the following: * CPR for the Professional Rescuer (or American Heart Association Healthcare Provider) * Lifeguard Training * Water Safety Instructor * Valid work permit, if applicable SELECTION PROCESS All applicants must submit clear, concise and complete information regarding all qualifications for the position. All applicants will be reviewed and only those candidates determined to be most qualified on the basis of experience and education, as submitted, will be invited to participate further in the selection process. Testing may consist of a performance test to measure job-related knowledge and abilities. Candidates that receive job offers must successfully pass a background check process including Live Scan fingerprinting as required by the State of California.
