I am a special education paraprofessional at an elementary school, but have decided to explore my passion for providing quality, loving care for children in a different way. Starting this summer, I began providing care for children right in my home. I have a background in psychology, and have worked with kids from age newborn through high school at different times throughout my adult career, for a total of 12 years of experience. I worked for 4 years as a teacher at a daycare, 2 years with troubled adolescents in a therapeutic group home, 2 years as an 8th grade teacher at an inner city choice school, nannied for twin infants and their 3 year old sister, nannied middle and elementary aged children (one with special needs), and currently work with mostly K5-2nd grade speical needs students (mostly down syndrome and autistic). I am also a mom of 2 boys, ages 3 and 6. This summer I began care for 2 little ones (ages 1 and almost 2) a couple of days per week. I am comfortable with special needs children and am very patient, compassionate, and nurturing. I am also adventurous, active and fun! I believe in compassion, kindness, and love. I use natural cleaners, am all about baby-wearing, am comfortable with cloth diapers, and am knowledegable and comfortable with accommodating special needs. Please contact me if you are interested.
