I'm an
Individual
I imagine that placing your baby into day care has got to be the most stressful time since your child was born. Know that your baby will be well loved, cared for, pampered, and safe at Auntie M's Infant Day Care! I will be taking 2 children ONLY- no children older than 18 months and not more than 1 under 6 months. I will be specifically licensed in Infant Nursery Care. I will have a bedroom dedicated to a nursery. I have 9 excellent references for you to contact and a clean, welcoming home for your baby. I am in the licensing process, but have previously been licensed in foster care in Jefferson County, so have had numerous classes and attended many retreats/seminars on child care. I will be re-taking Infant CPR/First Aid in two weeks, and can take a child after that class is complete, unless you have an emergency situation, then arrangements can be made. I recently was certified in Reducing the Risk of SIDS in Child Care, through the American Academy of Pediatrics. Licensing also involves Universal Precaution Classes, Medication Dispensing, and 15 hours of Pre-Licensing Classes that will be completed in early May. I will continue with education revolving around infant/ toddler care. I will provide a quiet home environment, where there is opportunity for your child to learn and grow, explore the world, and not be overwhelmed by a larger day care environment and the lack of attention that can come along with that. I will provide exercise, music and reading daily, "tummy time" and outdoor time. I will record your baby's progress and schedule daily, for you to take home and I also will keep a copy for your baby's diary. There will be interaction with friendly animals, a great way to build allergy resistance and reduce fears. My animals are up to date on immunizations, as required by licensing, and not at all a threat to children. Our dog is Hootie, a very smart, well trained 5 year old border collie. I have been married for 30 years and I am a mother of two, 21 and 22, both adopted through Jefferson County Foster/Adopt. I have decided to pursue my passion for children and start an infant day care in my home, rather than continue in the daily grind of office administrative work! My husband and I were licensed for foster care after not being able to have children, and adopted shortly thereafter, both being high risk adoptions. We cared for several foster children and did respite care also. We have even cared for our first foster daughter's baby who is now 3. The children have always been our top priority! I would be happy to discuss all of this further with you at our meeting! Please call to talk about your baby and schedule a time to come over! Marcy (Auntie M)
