Hello! My name is Alex and I am passionate about childcare and being able to have a positive impact on children's lives. I am a 24-year-old graduate from the Alberta College of Art and Design and I am currently enrolled in the Orientation Course for Child Care Staff through the Government of Alberta. I am planning on going back to school in the fall of 2017 to receive my 2 year Education Degree. I am most passionate about working with preschoolers/kindergarteners but I have worked with kids from all ages at summer camps and through volunteering at after school programs. I also have a 5.5 year old niece, a 3 year old nephew, and a 4 month old nephew that I babysit and hang out with on a regular basis. I love being around kids because I find them inspiring, playful, hilarious, and I think that, as an adult, I can learn from them just as much as I can teach them. Throughout my studies at ACAD I focused mostly on the act of play and how adults can carry play, and the carefreeness that children have, up into their adulthood lives so that they don't take life too seriously all of the time. It is clear to say that I genuinely love children and their well-being and safety are my top priorities. I am willing to take my First Aid and CPR courses as well as get a police check done.
