Hi to all the new mothers! Childcare can get expensive, especially if you are a single mom wanting to get back in the workplace. I am looking for only a baby or babies to look after while their parent or parents go back to work. I'm a grandmother, age 65. I have granddaughters who are grown up, in high school and college, but sometimes I just want to be around babies again. They are so precious and deserve 100% of our attention. That's what they would get if you hired me as your Gramma Babysitter. I'm patient, and love holding and feeding them, and changing diapers just comes with the territory. But I know when they need to just be asleep and feel safe, or rocked to sleep if they are upset. I live in the Auburn, CA area now, after just recently moving back. I previously lived here for over twenty years, raising my daughter with my husband of over twenty years, who passed away 15 years ago. I moved to Placerville and lived there for 13 years. I can only take one family's baby to watch since I'm not licensed, but I would care for your child as if it were part of my own family. I can also run errands for you if you need diapers or something from the store while you are working or running errands yourself, and can take your child to appts for you as well. I have a good driving record and use precaution and safety practices at all times while driving. I know it's hard to leave your babies with a stranger when you have to go to work, but I hope I can become like part of your family, and they will be pleased when I care for them in your absence. You will see I put my hourly rate in the box that asks for it, but that is negotiable. I like to charge by the day if it's a full day or half day. I'm flexible on the rate and will work with you on what you can afford, as long I get paid regularly. I have too many times in the past baby sat and ended up not paid at all because they kept putting me off and then acted like I was being too pushy when I wanted to get paid for my services. So I'm flexible, but don't like to be taken advantage of. Don't want to get off on a bad start. Whatever we agree to is what I'll expect and if you feel it's not enough, I'm always open to charging what you think it's worth to have a good baby sitter. Because that is what you are getting.
