My name is Olivia, and I’m currently a grade 10 student at Moira Secondary, enrolled in the International Baccalaureate (IB) programme. In this past year, I've spent nine months living internationally in Egypt and earned the experience of a lifetime. I learned a lot about Muslim and Egyptian culture, as well as a little bit of Arabic. While in Egypt, I attended the Canadian International School of Egypt for a semester and a half before returning back to Canada this March. I participate in many extracurriculars and activities in my school. I am currently part of my Jr girls' basketball team and cross country team. I help out with the Trojan Television Club and play tennis in my own time. In the past, I have been part of frisbee, volleyball, soccer, track and field, and I have trained in CrossFit for three years. Some more academic activities include making Moira's grade nine academic honour roll last semester. My team placed second at Queen's U math Olympics (in 2016), and I was also president of the student council one year. Hobbies of mine include reading and writing, which are two of my favourite pass-times. I also have a mild addiction to Netflix and love spending my time binge-watching movies and TV shows. Another hobby I enjoy is doing homework; I admit it's not something I thoroughly enjoy, I suppose I just happen to spend the majority of my time studying. As tiring as homework may be, I enjoy it because It gives me something to do and gives me confidence in my school work. I am bilingual. I have spent nine years of my life in French immersion and am fluent in the language alongside English. If homework aid is something that is needed, I don't mind helping out with that. If your child is learning something I have either forgotten or don't understand, I am a quick learner and will most likely be able to pick up an understanding. Since I am a full-time student, I'm not able to babysit during the day for obvious reasons. My weekends are typically free, though. I have extracurriculars after school, but depending on how far your location is from my school and whether or not I can find a ride, babysitting afterschool may or may not work, it can vary. I have a history of babysitting and have completed the Red Cross babysitting course. I work very well with children of all ages and can deal with pets, homework, cooking, and other needs.
