I have known Lydia for more than a decade, both personally and professionally as her supervisor when she worked as the Nursery Caregiver at our church. Lydia is self-motivated, responsible and articulate, with strong communication skills with parents and other people whom she works with. She is enthusiastic and fun with children, while still maintaining structure as their caregiver. In all she does, Lydia goes above and beyond what is asked of her. And, on top of all of this, she has a kind and caring presence everywhere she goes. Without any hesitation, I recommend Lydia for any caregiving position, whether childcare, senior or adult companionship, or pet/housecare.

It is my pleasure to write in support of Lydia Leitschuh as a fabulous camp counselor/babysitter. Lydia has been a counselor at my camp for five summers as a Lead Counselor, Life Guard, Swimming instructor, and most recently, Head of our Sports Department. She was both a very nurturing counselor for our kindergarten campers and a wonderful role model for our middle school campers. Lydia is a stellar counselor! She is always thoughtful and caring with campers and very attentive to their needs. And they adore her! Her approach to them is warm and supportive, fun and relaxed. Lydia always sees time spent with campers as her first priority; it is not uncommon to see Lydia out playing and entertaining a group of campers during free time when her friends and other members of the staff are taking a breather. Lydia has had some particularly difficult campers in her group. Rather than get frustrated with their behavior, she made an effort to connect with them and give them the special attention they needed. Because of this, they thrived at camp. As a swim instructor, Lydia combines a sense of fun with age appropriate and creative teaching. Lydia’s enthusiasm for swimming (and everything else at camp) is contagious! Her skill as a swim instructor can be seen in the progress of her campers over the summer. She also takes her role as a Life Guard very seriously, making the safety of her swimmers her top priority, while at the same time, remaining playful and imaginative. When asked, Lydia is always willing to help with tasks outside her department, such as setting up for a special event or creating sets and costumes for the plays. Lydia can always be counted on to lend a hand when needed. She has a strong sense of responsibility and will always follow through. If Lydia says she'll do something, it will be accomplished thoroughly and thoughtfully. One of Lydia’s best characteristics is that she is always smiling and fun to be around! Lydia’s energy and enthusiasm will make her an integral part of your school, not only in the classroom, but throughout campus life. Any child will be lucky to have Lydia as a care giver.
