Description and Availability: Hello there, my name is Kathleen and I’m currently a graduate student at Boston College’s Lynch School of Education. I am searching for a child care provider position in Falmouth, Massachusetts. I promise to be dedicated individual. My availability is very flexible and I am availableuntil August 27th when I return to school. About Me and Background Info: I am 22 years old and currently studying to receive my Master’s in Education in Curriculum and Instruction. I am also a certified English teacher in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. While I was an undergraduate student at Providence College I studied English/Education and was a Coordinator for Youth Education for two years with the school’s Campus Ministry. For the last seven summers I’ve lived in Falmouth and worked as a day camp counselor and sailing instructor for ages 6-14 at Falmouth Yacht Club and Woods Hole Yacht Club, working especially closely with students with special needs and younger students during private lessons. Description of Skills: I am a very organized and detailed worker and have had lots of experience working with elementary, middle school, and high school aged students through student teaching and observation. I absolutely love interacting with kids, including caring for toddlers and young children, especially coming up with games and activities that make learning fun, and learning about their own interests and personalities. I pride myself in being very relatable and enjoyable to children, but am able to balance that well with structure and organization so they are able to have fun safely and appropriately. I am happy to help with date night supervising, afterschool care and homework help, preparing tasty and nutritious snacks and meals (with careful attention to allergies), preparing for bed, and camp and activity pick-up and drop-off.
