Greetings Parents, Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Agnes Redekopp and I am excited to open our new Montessori School in East St Paul, Manitoba. I would never have imagined that I would become so passionate about early childhood education and the Montessori teaching method. I have many years of experience teaching children of all ages after obtaining a BA and B..... as a mature student in 2004. Upon graduation I believed that middle years students were my niche age group, however, I hesitantly accepted a position to teach a preschool/kindergarten class in 2004. Much to my surprise, I fell in love with those little ones. In the same school the following year I accepted a teaching position for a grade 7/8 homeroom class which included teaching Language Arts to grades 3-8. It was through this unique multi-age teaching position that I recognized that quality early childhood education provides the building blocks to educational success in later years. After considerable research into early childhood educational approaches, I returned to school to become a certified MACTE Montessori teacher in 2011. In 2015 I went to Dallas Texas and obtained my Musikgarten certification. I have worked in several Montessori schools in different capacities and decided to open my own Montessori school to actualize my accumulated educational skills and teaching experience. Maria Montessori encouraged educators to “Follow the Child” which means it is up to the educator to adapt their approach to meet the needs of the child. My teaching philosophy is to facilitate children’s mastery of the fundamental academic and mindfulness skills they need to build upon throughout their lives and to inspire a life-long desire to learn.
