My name is Jennifer and I am a single mom of 2 boys, ages 18 and 21. I have been keeping my eyes and ears open for a position which would allow me to continue doing what I love (being around children)!! I love being outdoors whenever possible and was always at the park or taking walks with my boys when they were growing up!! My favorite part, if picked for this position, would be the ability to be an integral part of the children’s development. There is nothing more rewarding than watching a child grow and progress while in my care. Previously I was in the medical field, beginning as a certified nursing assistant while attending classes at Front Range University my senior year of high school and my last position title was the office manager at an occupational medicine clinic which consisted of supervising 4 physicians, 2 physical therapists, and 2 medical assistants. I loved working with patients and got the opportunity to explore and gain knowledge in several different areas, which included both front and back office experience. Unfortunately 11 years ago I had a surgery where the Surgeon nicked my intestine causing me to become septic and extremely sick. Since that surgery I’ve had to have 47 additional surgeries, making it not possible to return to work as I was constantly either in surgery or in recovery. Luckily I’ve only had to have 2 surgeries the past 3 years and the recovery time has only kept me out of commission fully for a week. I don’t have any restrictions other than lifting heavy items repeatedly. I started taking online classes to continue working towards my degree of forensic psychology, and although I may work on my schoolwork if time during the day allows, I am not physically in class and do not have to work on schoolwork throughout the day. I am not currently CPR certified as mine has expired, but was always current when I was employed, and can attend the next Available class to get re-certified if your family would like. I have an open schedule at this time so I am flexible with hours, times, etc. and am open to both part time as well as full time positions! I have intermittently taken a few nanny positions and have spent approximately 2 of the past 3 years watching infants and children of families nearby, including a 3 year old child with special needs. Needless to say, I have a lot of experience not only with raising my own children, but am proud to provide the same amount of love and care for other families while their child(ren) are under my supervision.
