I started babysitting for a person who is working in the same national lab where my husband works . At that time, I was new to US and had to stay at home by myself for most of the time. Boredom and homesickness was getting the better part of me. The babysitting job actually saved me from all the blues--and I realized I have a natural knack for this. I feel at ease when I am with kids, I love to be around them and taking care of them and mostly I admire the innate simplicity they offer to me. And also the money-- I could have something on the side for myself and can contribute to our family expenses. Over the years I have taken care of children of ages from 7 months onward.
