Hello, my name is Carol. I am seeking an opportunity to be 'mother's little helper'. I am a young gramdma, who loves children (all ages). I currently have a flexible schedule. I have cared for my great-nephew who was 4.5 years old at the time. We read books for fun and to broaden his knowledge/vocabulary. We played cards/board games, practiced writing skills, sang songs and went to the park. I provided arts and crafts projects, prepared meals, offered healthy snacks and ensured that water was consumed frequently (especially at the park!). I believe all children need guidance and supervision. Some children need/thrive on a regiment routine and usually have an extrodinary imagination. Most children try to push your buttons. Instead of a negative response, I like to challenge their thought process. I point out that their request might affect other people and ask how it might affect their own feelings. My role as a 'helper' means just that. I am willing to help with chores, run errands, meal preparation, checking homework (no algebra!) or anything else (within reason) that helps Mommy or Mr. Mom while they are away from home. I'm not here to raise your kids nor will I ever be their 'Mom'. Responsibility is a big word with me, it says who you are. I strive to express it in young children and adults. It's not a 'blame' game, it's 'accountability' of your actions (good or bad). I enjoy the simple things in life, which make me happy, God has provided the rest!
