I'm an
Individual
"I can't remember a time when I didn't step up as a caregiver, even as a child, the urge came naturally”, says Linda who has about 30 years experience in early childhood education and childcare. Coming from a very large and tight knit family, Linda always had younger cousins, nieces and nephews she would volunteer to care for without any hesitation. Linda put herself through college working full-time as Lead Teacher at a learning daycare, where she got to experience working with children of the age range 12 weeks up to 12 years old. For the past 10 years, opportunities have opened up as full-time nanny to preschool and elementary school aged children. With a strong musical and fine art background, Linda uses art and music as teaching tools with children, encouraging creativity and expression at any given chance. As a nanny, her duties are not limited to but entail tutoring and homework help, making sure all expectations and requirements are met by maintaining correspondence between teachers and guardian/parents, chauffeuring up to three children between both academic and extracurricular activities, doctor visits, after school pickup. Preparing nutritious meals, supervising bath-time and putting little ones to bed on most school nights are part of the familiar routine. Having had experience with overnight care, Linda is very comfortable with stepping in as a foster parent figure for several days and taking full responsibility for children like they were her own if the need arises. She avails herself as a fun loving trusted babysitter on weekends, days off school or any other occasional need at short notice. Having been fortunate to experience working with children with special needs including non verbal autism, hearing impaired children, physical disabilities, ADD, ADHD, dyslexia among other disorders and challenges, Linda has developed an exemplary amount of patience and understanding with children. She believes that every child is special and unique and it is up to caregivers to help them discover their gifts and talents and guide them through the discovery and nurturing that allows them to put their best foot forward. Based on her education, First Aid and CPR certification, general experience, reliability and maintaining great rapports with multiple families, Linda has great references available upon request.
