Sitter in Houlton, Maine

Hello! My name is Mersia Thibodeau I first heard about Sitter..... through a friend who had a positive experience with the website, and decided it was for me too! To give you a little bit of my background, I first started babysitting at the age of fourteen. My mother and father both worked full time, so I took it upon myself to care for my newborn sister Madison at the time. In caring for a newborn child I learned a lot of valuable skills that helped me tremendously when going outside my own home and babysitting for other families. I learned an extensive amount of positive reinforcement methods, and I always tend to be a very active listener so that I can meet needs properly and immediately. You can always count on me to be reliable and punctual, cheerful and energetic, and very approachable. In the past 5 years, I have had the privilege to work for 5 different families, including my own with child age ranges from newborn to 13 years of age, and up to 4 children at a time. I have had to apply my general knowledge and skills during these times, and the outcome has been very successful. Additional skills: Cooking, cleaning, producing fun and educational games to keep children engaged, assisting with homework and tutoring, bathing, changing diapers, reading and engaging child to read and develop skills for reading, helping and assisting with morning/ bedtime routines, clothing changes as needed, can go for walks/ pick items up from stores as needed, transportation to and from school, work, extracurricular activities/etc., able to handle sick children who must stay home from or leave school early, and administer first aid and daily medications as required.
