Sitter in Edmonton, Alberta

I'm an
Individual
Let me start of by explaining a little bit about myself, me (a paediatric emergency nurse) and my husband (a doctor) are moving to Edmonton at the end of August 2018 from London, UK. This is because he has a fellowship in the University of Alberta Hospital. I am a senior paediatric nurse in charge of the department at my hospital, but as I will be relocating to Edmonton for one year, I cannot work as a nurse. Working as a nurse in Canada requires me to redo all my exams and will not be worth the effort if we only stay for a year. Due to my job, I am very knowledgeable in child development, sickness and of course, emergency situations. I feel that being away from children for a year would be hard for me as I absolutely love to play and entertain them! So I was seeing if I could arrange to be a child minder. We will be staying in a large (1000 – ... sq ft) two bedroom apartment near or around the Hospital; it would be a smoking free household, no pets, very clean and child friendly! If you were interested, I would welcome you to come and view the area of where I will be with your child and answer any questions you would like. I imagine this arrangement is not for everyone, but more for a young toddler that needs childcare whilst the parents are working. You can drop of in the morning before work and come and collect after work. Flexible with times if you have to stay at work late, held back in traffic etc. Of course Edmonton would be very new to me and will be looking for suggestions for soft play, swimming, parks etc. This is only if you would like me to take your child to these places, I would update you with pictures and facetime and ensure communication is at its peak. I speak fluent Spanish as a second language, play the piano (would buy a keyboard at home eventually), and if staying at home will draw with them and ensure they are entertained! I will be willing to start from September 3rd 2018. Please keep me in mind if you have not found a candidate by then or if you would like to have some days with me instead. Regarding salary, I am looking for around $20 an hour (negotiable). This is slightly higher than the average due to my skills and degree level qualifications. Best wishes, Aida Alonso
