Sitter in Ellicott City, Maryland

I'm an
Individual
I have a 6 y/o spirited young girl who is in 1st grade! I have my BS in Criminal Justice, AA in Early Childhood Education and AA in General Studies. I started my MS in Negotiations and Conflict Management, but was unable to complete due to the demands of my job in the corporate world. I was also a licensed Emergency Medical Technician with a local volunteer Fire Dept. When my daughter came along, I worked for about a year and then decided to become a stay at home mom. I became her preschool teacher and health advocate as well as her #1 Mommy. She had some health issues such has severe milk and soy protein allergies and moderate to severe swallow dysfunctions to name a few that it came to a point that I needed to stay at home with her as the corporate world was not a place for a situation like mine. I am happy to say today, she is a thriving 6 y/o who is perfect! Her teacher for Kindergarten was so impressed she had not even gone to preschool! Anyways, some time ago, a local mom contacted me and asked if I would be willing to watch her infant fulltime, long term. I hadnt thought about working again, but i said hey, let me give it a shot. Her son had milk allergies and needed a nebulizer several times a day. All things I was used to with my own daughter. It ended up that I watched not only the baby, but her 3 y/o and 5 y/o until they started pre-k and kindergarten this year. The baby gained weight, became more outgoing, begain to talk and walk while under my care. His mom said he would always cry when he would go to his previous provider and never ate as well. Since the 3 (now 4 y/o) & 5 y/o are in school I no longer watch them. I occasionally watch my chunkers, the baby :) when his mom who now stays at home has a doctors appt as she is expecting baby #4 this Spring! That's why I don't watch him full time anymore. I do not run a day care. I just provide a clean, loving, safe place where your baby can, thrive, grow and play while you are working, and you can have the piece of mind that they are safe and well care for. As well, I do not call for sniffle or fever outbreaks, those things happen! I mean, I would let you know if your baby is feeling under the weather, but you do not need to take off work because of a few coughs :) I can administer their medications and rock them tenderlly just as you would if your job wont give you the day off or you have a closing arguement on an important case. Full or part-time? Days or Nights? Just a few hours here and there to spend time with your significant other or with the girls or guys? Are you a nurse who works the night shift? No, Problem! Pay is negotiable. Care would be provided for in my home. Occassionally we may depending on age go and do age related activites outside the home and accompany my daughter to the park weather permitting (air quality, heat, etc)! I can provide a clear driving record, proof of insurance, and can pass a background check if needed. References also available upon request. Let me know if this sounds like something you would like to discuss further.
