Hi, my name is Lindi, and I could be your next nanny or housekeeper! I recently moved to Edmonton from Calgary. It’s been great so far although I miss the short road trips to the mountains. I was born in Zimbabwe and I have lived in Canada since 2008. I have always been drawn to taking care of kids, as a teenager I was babysitting for a family with 4 children under the ages of 10. I am more experienced with children over the age of 5. I have occasionally taken care of preteens for neighbours and friends. My passion of providing a safe and nurturing environment has yielded my success of happy, healthy children/families. I have a background in Business Administration at SAIT and briefly was a first year Pre-Cabinetmaking apprentice. I also have been in customer service roles for over 10 years. I love creating, and art is one of my passions. I mostly paint but I enjoy the vast types of art mediums which I am happy to share with the children I take care of. I love to engage with their activities and be present with them so we can also build a respectfully trusting relationship. I enjoy music and the freedom it brings to sing out loud, or dance your heart out. Education is also important to me, as an old library kid I encourage reading whether I read to them or we have quiet reading time. If the parents also support it I believe a balance of screen time and non screen time is important. I have a calm patient approach to handling the ranges of emotions kids have. I lead with empathy so I can have interactive communication for decision making or problem solving. It’s all a collaborative effort making sure to communicate well with the parents and following the family values. I am currently fully available so I have schedule flexibility. I am looking for a full-time or part-time position in the Edmonton area. Only available as a live-out nanny and I don’t have a driver license, so nearby transit is needed. In addition to providing attentive care, I'm a great cook that can meal prep and create delicious meals for the children. I understand the importance of healthy eating habits, and I strive to make mealtime enjoyable and nutritious. I can follow recipes to adapt to diverse food preferences. I am very aware and careful of food allergies as I have some too (none that affects me making them for kids). I will also do light housekeeping to ensure a safe, comfortable environment.
