Hello! My name is Marlayna - I am a mother, educator, and caregiver! Right now I am hoping for a position near Lyons. I have been working in childcare "officially" (paid) for about 9 years, but really since my mom opened a daycare when I was 7 - I fell in love with early childhood education and have been wiping noses ever since! I have my Bachelor's degree in Education, was a teacher in the childcare center where I earned my degree, have worked and substituted at several daycares in the Paola area, and have worked as a tutor and student teacher in public schools at all grade levels. Most recently, I have been working as a nanny while co-owning a family daycare in Paola, however I had to leave these positions when I moved to Lyons in May. I love working with little ones and having the opportunity to watch them grow and learn about the world around them! I also have a 1.5 year old son myself, which is an adventure of its own! My other trainings and certifications include: CPR/First Aid/AED, Infant and Children's Nutrition (including knowledge of formula and breastfeeding), Mandatory Reporting, SIDS and Safe Sleep, Child Development, and more (copies available upon request)
