Sitter in Dubuque, Iowa

Hi, my name is Sarah Powers and I am looking for anyone in need of a babysitter. I recently moved to Dubuque after graduating from Iowa State University this May in just three short years. Although I majored in communication studies and psychology, I have much past experience, education, training, and information about child care. In fact, the last position I held was working as a youth counselor through Woodward Academy. I worked with delinquent boys aged 12-21 on a daily basis, working on behavior modification, education, life skills, therapy skills, etc. Although the position was challenging at times, it provided me with a strong foundation for working with children that have behavioral issues, or those that seem to be just a bit more difficult to handle. Also during the course of working for Woodward Academy, I received restraint training and CPR certification. Aside from my most recent experience, I spent much of my time in high school devoted to child care. I volunteered to babysit children during PTO meetings on a weekly basis for one year, volunteered as a leader at a church preschool for 3 years, took a child development and advanced child development class, and had the opportunity to create lesson plans and teach preschool children throughout the course of a year. Currently, I am looking for any babysitting position available. I prefer someone who has a consistent schedule and needs babysitting regularly, however I can also be available for one night sittings.
