Sitter in Toronto, Ontario

I'm an
Individual
Hi there! My name is Jessica, and I've been a passionate childcare worker for 10 years! I've had the amazing experience of volunteering and working with kids aged 1-14 over my long history of babysitting. I’m ideally looking for part-time babysitting throughout the week and/or weekend, though I am open to both full time and occasional sitting as well. I am pet-friendly and don't mind doing pet-related chores/tasks such as feeding, walking, taking to parks or appointments, etc. A little bit about me: I'm currently completing a undergraduate's degree of Sociology with a special interest in child psychology at the University of Toronto. I've always excelled in school. I finished my senior year of high school with a 95 average, and have maintained a 3.8 GPA throughout my undergraduate studies. The subjects I enjoy the most are english, art, psychology, history, and philosophy. I am happy to tutor children on any basic subjects. I have many hobbies which translate wonderfully into child-care jobs. First and foremost, I adore reading books of all reading levels- both to myself and others. As a camp counselor, I often read children's stories to my campers and encouraged them to read along with me, or tackle some pages on their own! I am also an avid lover of all arts and crafts; I was the leader of the arts & crafts activity at my Camp, and have also taken art courses throughout my time in high school. Lastly, one of my greatest passions is cooking. I have worked in two culinary jobs before (at a catering company and as a Starbucks barista!), so I am well-versed in food safety. I also have an extensive knowledge of cooking healthy plant-based foods, in case your child is vegan or vegetarian. Services And Training: I am currently CPR and First Aid Certified. I am happy to prepare meals and snacks for your child, help with homework, pick them up from school/daycare, take them to extracurriculars within walking distance, and spend time playing with them at a park, public kids pool, or with their favorite toys! I also don’t mind doing light house keeping, running errands, or grocery shopping if needed. I feel most comfortable caring for children from 6mos to 14 years of age, but am willing to learn the ins and outs of caring for a newborn, provided that I match with a family who is willing to guide me through their routine. Child-Care Experience: ◦ Babysitter for various (4 ) families with children ages 1, 6, 8, and 12 (2014......) ◦ Camp Counsellor at Ontario Pioneer Camp (2016-20...) ◦ Volunteer at Montrose Public School for Extracurricular Classes: Dance, Sports, & Beginners Portuguese (2013-20...) * References available upon request! How To Contact Me: Please feel free to shoot me a message and I will respond promptly!
