Personal Profile: Hey my name is Shorna. I'm hoping to find a mother's helper position in New York. I plan to contribute my abilities as a live in nanny. I can alter my schedule to meet your needs. I strive to be a well trained, accountable individual. I'm very responsible and punctual, I can be available as needed. Over the years, I've watched over many children, especially infants. I've always had a passion for kids, if it was simply reading with them, or teaching them fun facts. Inspiring them to dream and always work hard. My longest lasting job as a live in nanny was 9 months. There was 5 kids, including a 2 month old infant. I was mostly hired for assistance with the baby. For about 5 months, the only time I didn't spend with the child was when I was sleeping. She was a daytime sleeper and awake most of the night. So I would have her during the day, while her mommy slept and cared for her at night. She was born with her feet bent inwards and the Dr advised us to massage her feet. In a way that would straighten them out. So I would give her, her little foot therapy everyday. Today she's 3 and her little feet are barely noticeable. Almost perfect. I would sing to her, take her on walks. I had a special song I would sing to her when she'd cry. And she'd immediately stopped crying. She was such a sweet child. She spoke her first words around her 8 months of life. I'd gotten it on camera. And her mom was amazed. She told me her kids don't necessarily speak until after their first birthday. Since I've left she's had another baby, he turned 2 a few days ago. And his vocabulary is only a few words. But her former baby, is just a talker. She told me, that she'll pick up a conversation with just about anyone. Everyone says, she speaks as if she's a lot older than she is. They call her an old soul. (Maybe I talked way too much to the child.) Being a nanny may not seem like much to some. But the way I see it; is that you help bring stability to a home. You get to hang out with kids, learn how they see the world through their little eyes. I think its the sweetest thing. Services And Training: I have experience with play date supervision, homework help, and children's crafting. On top of this, I am comfortable working with sick children. Regarding previous history, I have years of experience. I am happy to help with date night supervising, and swimming supervision. When it comes to prior training, I have extensive experience.
