Personal Profile: Nice to meet you! My name is Mrs. Susan Harden. I am interviewing for a caregiver position in the Aiken, South Carolina area. I was born and raised in Aiken. I am committed to being a hardworking employee. My availability is completely flexible. I am available 24/7. Description of Skills: I am a mother whose child is grown, so I know how to care for a child of any age; whether they are sick or well. I have cared for healthy and unhealthy elderly, as well as sick or incapacitated adults. I have experience watching over people who have both short and long-time illnesses. However, I am not a hospice caregiver, nor a nurse. I am 51 years young. I am patient and kind, but not a pushover. I volunteer 2 to 3 times a month at a nursing home hosting karaoke and/or singing solos to entertain the residents. I also help the Activities Director with various tasks and events. Up until recently, I served 3 years as a Guardian ad Litem representing children and teens who had been removed from their homes and placed in Foster Care due to abuse or neglect. I directly met with each child 1 to 2 times per month. I provided recommendations to the court as to what each child needed. I decided to take a break because my husband had a stroke in February 2017, and I wanted to spend more time with him to assist with his care. He is now able to care for himself inside our home, which I redesigned to be handi-friendly. Over the years I previously served as a Sunday School teacher and a Vacation Bible School teacher. I mentioned Sunday School and Bible School as a reference for my experience with children. I am fine with "bed-pan" duty. I am okay with removing and replacing diapers on infants, children, and adults. I am happy to provide light house-keeping and simple meal preparations. However, I am not a maid service.
