Hi, I'm Tom! I'm a freshman at Iowa State University majoring in mechanical engineering. I'm from Eau Claire, Wisconsin where I have 5 younger siblings who I've been helping take care of all my life. The youngest is Caleb. He's 4 right now and loves life, he is as energetic as can be, playing sports every chance he gets. Kate is 2 years older than him and while she is energetic, she is even more sensitive and often times needs ice cream or a fun "airplane ride" to help her feel better. Nora is 12, and often feels out of the loop as Kate and Caleb tend to spend all their time as a pair, as do her older brothers Josh and Joe. It's my job to make her feel loved and important whether this be by baking cookies with her (no matter how bad they turn out), playing games with her, or by helping with her homework. Joe is 15 and Josh is 17 so I don't have to watch over them as much, but I do still try to help with their homework and make them food. I hope this description of my babysitting experience shows the type of babysitter that I am. I played hockey and soccer all through high school and was lucky enough to be named honorable mention all-state in hockey my senior year. I make good grades, with a 3.81 GPA last semester, but I miss my family and taking care of my younger siblings, which is why I'm looking for babysitting jobs. I have a car on campus so I am available to drive kids around. I am also available on most weekends, however I would like the freedom to cancel a weekend if I choose to go home, or have other obligations. I will cook simple meals, and try my best if fancier meals are requested, and I will clean if needed.
