Hello! I am a performing artist, musician, and teacher, looking to add babysitting to my part-time routine! I am a very experienced teacher, with a solid background in summer camp, in-school, and after-school Shakespeare, theater and writing programs for children. I've worked with ages 5-18, designing original curricula and creating new pieces of theater, written and performed by the students themselves. I have been a lead teacher with two NYC-based organizations for several years, and am very confident leading structured classes. However, my greatest strength has always been my rapport with students. I relate very easily to students of all ages, and strike a great balance between fun and focus! In addition to formal teaching, I have also worked as a tutor, typically with middle school students on math and chemistry. I'm comfortable with lots of school subjects, particularly writing/lit, history, math, and french. And as a performer and musician, I'd always be happy to bring those skills to babysitting with lessons or other fun activities! I am also an athlete, yoga enthusiast, and very active person, and am very willing to engage in any active fun stuff with kids. Though my official certification is expired, I was a swim instructor and lifeguard for several years, and am comfortable supervising pool time. Though I am new to babysitting as part-time work, I have much experience babysitting young ones in my own family throughout the years! In addition to my background with students, I am very willing to take on other household tasks tasks. I am as comfortable with pets as children, with both cats and dogs in my family. I am available for walks, feeding, cleanup, and minor veterinary care as well (pills, etc). I also have work experience with housecleaning. I was a self-employed house cleaner in NYC for a year, so I would be happy to help you out with that as well. And I am a great vegetarian cook with a large repertoire of dishes! I do not have a car, but I am a safe, conservative driver with a license. Also comfortable accompanying children on transit.
