I'm Destiny - a sitter/ nanny in Gloucester, Virginia offering full-time and part-time care for newborns, primary school kids, and toddlers. As an experienced live-in and live-out carer I am comfortable with both occasional and regular assignments. My childcare experience started as a young teenager, I volunteered as a camp counselor for 4H camp. Around the same time I began to babysit for local families and I continued this all throughout high school, even beginning to dog and house sit as well. After I graduated I took 2 gap years and worked at the Gloucester Montessori School in the Toddler House. There I learned that teaching was my passion and what I wanted to pursue. I am currently enrolled at Western Governors University to get my degree in education. I have the long term goal of one day opening up my own learning center. I am a passionate, nurturing caregiver. I create an environment that provides safety and security for the parents and children, as well as emotional and educational development. I have a fun, playful attitude and am great at creating enriching activities and experiences that help children to learn and grow. Having a Montessori background helps me to meet kids where they are and figure out the best ways to meet kids where they are and help them thrive. I love taking kids on adventures. Even if it's just to their backyard, I love planning crafts and activities to get the children engaged. I am comfortable handling multiple kids at one time and pets are no issue for me. I have a reliable car and am a safe driver, I know the importance of driving safe especially with precious cargo! I am comfortable helping with pick ups and drop offs for school, practice, ect.
