My 12yr old son Colton is wanting to find a few families he could do babysitting for on weekends and maybe some week nights. There are no neighbors around us who have kids young enough for him to watch and any family members who do have young enough kids all live out of state. He is 12 and a half, a boy scout for almost 5 years, he absolutely loves babies and toddlers and they all love him. If a baby or toddler is upset and crying in a store Colton will go up to them to try to make them laugh. He is super responsible when it comes to taking care of little ones and would sit there entertaining them over playing a video game. When I was his age I had 3 different families I did full time babysitting for (after school then all day during the summer). If Colton can find a family or two to hire him for part time sitting now he could possibly be your summer child care provider. He'd be cheaper than regular child care. So if you're interested in giving him a try please contact us. I am wanting for him to do the sitting in our home for at least the first few times. I believe this will help him be able to focus on bonding with your child instead of focusing on being afraid of being in a strangers home. Also he has decided that for the first time he watches a child he will charge $1.50 for a child 12 months and younger $1.25 for a child 13 months through 3 and $1.00 for 4-7. If both parties want to continue with the job then he will sit down with you and discuss his fee. He promises to be affordable and a great friend to your child
