KANOKWAN CHAISONGKRAM (Pookie) Dear future host family, Thank you for reading my letter. My name is Kanokwan Chaisongkram. You can call me Pookie as my nickname . I am a 31 years old au pair/nanny candidate from Thailand. I am eager to become an au pair or nanny in Canada as the program offers a valuable opportunity and experience. My babysitting experience so far includes: Part time Nanny Tutor in Private Home from 02/2021-Present .Due to I'm a full time Pharmacist at the hospital currently. Full-time lived in Nanny Tutor (Private Home) for 2 years. Au pair for 1 year in Washington DC, USA. Daycare at Saint Mary’s hospital for 1 year. Babysitting for a private home part-time for 4 years. Part-Time Extra Curricular Activities Science Experiment Teacher at Bangkok Pattana international School and Cooking Class Teacher at several international schools for 2 years. I hope to find a host family that is kind, open-minded to new cultures, supportive and willing to make me feel like a part of the family. In return, I promise to take great care of their children while also being a good representative of Thailand. My family is from a big town, called Nakhonratchasima, located in the north east of Thailand. It is famous for Khao - Yai National Park and the wide variety of food available here. My family consists of 3 people, my parents and me. We love to have BBQ parties and simple hot pot parties at home with our relatives on the weekend and have a great time with each other. About my education background, I studied Pharmacy. I chose this program because I was interested in experimenting and analysing medications products.Moreover Pharmacists play a key role in helping patients feel better and get well as quickly as possible . I feel relieved and happy when my patients get better. The knowledge I have gained from there has convinced me to start my own brand in the future. However, I was always interested in learning the English language. That is why I volunteered at the foreign department of my university as a translator to help the foreign exchange students communicate and also by teaching them how to make Thai food and taking them to explore several amazing places around the city. Concerning my childcare experience, I have taken care of children of ages between 8 months - 6 years old for 4 years as a full-time and 4 years as a part-time nanny(due to my study schedule). Throughout my experience, it has always been easy for me to connect with the kids and take care of them. As I am very fond of children, it feels good to make them feel safe and seeing them grow and develop both physically and emotionally gives me joy. My responsibilities were bottle feeding , Food feeding, medications feeding when the kids are not feeling well ,bathing, changing diapers, playing with them both indoor and outdoor , playing with toys and speaking with them to help with speaking language acquisition. Generally speaking, I could handle them fine and have learned so much about childcare and the nature of children from this experience. Moreover , I also help them to spell the words and phonic sound of the alphabets. Of course, storing time is also my favorite time with children. Personality-wise, I consider myself as nurturing, easy-going, cheerful, warm-hearted, patient, open-minded, attentive and highly responsible for my job. No matter what I do, I take it seriously and make sure that I am doing it very well. I am a girl with an urge to learn new things and to explore the world. I’m seeking an opportunity for a new adventure by becoming an Au pair or nanny in a foreign country. I believe that the knowledge and experiences that I have gained will become advantageous for my future. Regarding my additional skills, I am a good driver, I can swim a bit and I can also cook. Even though I love music, I am starting to learn Piano as well. I am also good at singing and dancing with the kids. I am good at reading stories to the kids and playing games with them. I especially love to teach them about basic science experiments for kids. It’s really fun , most of the kids love it ! As an Au pair or Nanny, I am willing to become flexible and be a big help because I understand that family life can be hectic and children are important. I will be respectful towards your privacy and be communicative as it’s the key to a successful exchange year. I will exchange as much of my Thai culture to your family while learning yours as well.
