Sitter in Redmond, Washington

Hello! My name is Mars and I use they/them and he/him pronouns! I am looking to be a nanny/babysitter working about 3 days a week for ideally but not exclusively queer, lgbtq, and neuro-divergent kids/families. I live in Redmond and am able to drive to you! I am creative, upbeat, and love to laugh! I am CPR certified, completed 30 hours of childcare basics training, infant sleep training, and a Washington state food handlers permit. My previous job was at a childcare center working with infants through preschool. I am gender fluid, autistic, and have ADHD. In high school and part time college I took many classes on childhood development, interpersonal communication, psychology, clinical psych, and educational psychology. Outside of school I have studied and researched things like how to support autistic children in classroom settings, emotional regulation, and understanding autism in adults and children. I value empathy, respect, understanding, and boundaries and carry this throughout my work with kids and parents. When working with any age group I find that all kids are receptive when you meet them on their own level with a calm and respectful demeanor. To share a little more about my personality I love crafts, board games, walks, plants, and pets! I am super creative and love to do anything having to do with art! With infants I love to make silly faces and silly sounds and read to them too. With Toddlers I love singing, reading, crafts, going on walks, and dancing! With preschoolers I love going outside, doing arts and crafts, making simple foods, reading books, and building forts! It's important to me that families and kids trust me and if it's helpful I am happy to set up a phone call or zoom meeting to talk face to face :)
