We are now offering Summer Dance Camps for Children ages 8-15. The Goal: to educate children about Partner dancing, while developing musicality, social skills, etiquette, and more. AGES: 8-15 (Split into two age groups, 8-11 and 12-15) LENGTH: Each camp is 1 week, 5 buisness days, includes graduation on Friday Night DATES OF KIDS CAMP: Week 1: 7/13-... Week 2: 7/20-... HOURS OF OPERATION: 9:00am-1:00pm LOCATION: The Southern Star Ballroom Center in North Raleigh 6625-15 Falls of Neuse Rd, Raleigh, NC 27515 COST: $235 per child Additional Child Care: 8:30am-9:00am and 1:00pm-1:30pm: $10 per child per 1/2 hour Additional tickets for Graduation Party: 16 and up: $10 and Children 15 and under: $5 EXTENDED CARE: PRE Camp Drop-off: 8:30am-9:00am and Post Camp Pick-up: 1:00-1:30pm COST FOR EXTENDED CARE: $10 per Child for PRE Camp Drop-off: 8:30am-9:00am and POST Camp Pick-up: 1:00-1:30pm. (Your Credit Card to be left on file, in case of incident) LUNCH: Parents pack lunches and we'll have lunch time during pick-up time at 1:00pm for a slight additional cost, $10. We don't pass out Medications. SCHEDULE of Events (Subject to Change): TRACK A: Kids: Session 1: 9:00am-9:50am BASIC BALLROOM DANCE Session 2: 10:00am-11:00am BASIC BALLROOM DANCE continues. 11:00am-11:30am BREAK Session 3: 11:30am-1:00pm ARTS & CRAFTS TRACK B: Adolescence: Session 1: 9:00am- 9:50am FOXTROT Session 2: 10:00am-11:00am EC SWING 11:00am-11:30am BREAK Session 3: 11:30am-1:00pm MUSICALITY (Basic information about moving to music, drills, etc...) GRADUATION: Friday Night from 7-8:30pm There will be Social Dancing, Mini Lessons for all Attendees of Graduation, Snacks, Kids Show, Pro Show, and a game, Deal or No Deal. For the Friday Performances: Classes are to be taught progressively within a structure where they can use the information given to perform Friday for their parents and loved ones. Teaching Lead/Follow and how to work as a team within a structure. Classes will be structured, so they progress through information and they feel comfortable with the patterns and the information to perform Friday.
