Carissa is reliable and professional. She volunteered with our reading buddies program for over a year and a half and was always positive and easy to communicate with. She is dedicated to her community and is a great role model for kids. In our program, Carissa was matched with a child each session who she would meet with once a week to practice their reading. The children in our program are often struggling with reading and/or learning English. Carissa worked with a number of different children during her time as a volunteer, and was always successful at building a relationship with them and helping them feel more confident in their reading. She was often my go-to volunteer if there is a child who is struggling and needed a bit of extra attention.
