Hello! My name is Megan. I recently graduated from Saint Vincent College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education and a concentration in Disabilities Studies. I am the oldest of four siblings (two sisters and a brother), and have been babysitting on my own since I was 10 years old. My parents both worked full-time jobs whenever I was growing up, so I had to take on the responsibility of a caretaker at a very early age. However, I have always loved taking care of and helping people, which is one of the reasons why I decided to become a teacher! Aside from watching my siblings, I have held numerous babysitting and nannying positions during the school year as well as the summer months over the course of the last ten years. In my most recent position, I watch three girls (ages 12, 10, and 3) for approximately 10-12 hours per day. We go on lots of adventures together, spend lots of time playing outside, listen to music, and even travel to new places every now and then! I believe that children learn best whenever they are seeing and experiencing for themselves; through self-exploration. As a teacher, I feel that it’s important to provide children with as many opportunities for personal and academic growth as possible! In addition to the above duties, I also provide housekeeping and meal preparation as well. Whenever I am not working, I love to travel to new places, write music, play with my cat, walk my dog, exercise, read, and most importantly, spend time with my family.
