Sitter in Monticello, Arkansas

I do it all from newborn to teenagers... yes I love teens too. I just worked with teenage boys at the Arkansas Baptist Home for Children for 2 1/12 yrs and loved it-miss them. Before that, we were in the mission field in Puerto Rico working with "at risk youth" for a total of 7yrs and helped start a bilingual Christian school there back in 2007. I taught mostly 4th -12th grade Science, English and Math. I love to be creative, make learning fun, think out of the box, be spontaneous, yet instill that with all this fun comes responsibility and sometimes there needs to be structure and norms to follow. There is a time for everything and for everything you would like to do there is a special time. Respect, Honesty, Communication are at the top of my list and they are earned incrementally, not given- this teaches children healthy boundaries as well for their future. My parent or teaching style is based on "Parenting or Teaching with Love and Logic". I have raised my 32yo sis, and my 3 children (17yo, 19yo, 26yo). I love to tutor and make reading fun, do experiments from household ingredients or paint nails, watch movies or make plays. I do limit gaming and TV time if I was going to be sitter for a whole day. Lets say I was a nanny, I would treat like I treated my own and TV/gaming was not their all day babysitters. We played board games, went to places, library, pre-school, children's museums, water park season passes. etc. Every child is different and we need to be sensitive to a child who has environmental sensory stress, or other dietary accommodations, so with my 10 yrs of medical assistant experience with specialty clinics and adult/family medicine, I have acquired advanced knowledge and am comfortable caring for a child who is sick short term or longer term. I took care of my Husbands grandma who was on hospice and dying in 2 months- she passed away last year (11 years later). I give meds, I have worked with child needing speech therapy, I have worked with ADD/ADHD children, depressed and children with PTSD. I tutored a child with supposedly retardation-I discovered her problem was PTSD created from a previous school where she was bullied; as I gained her trust she began progressing/blossoming in school. WE can discuss what your needs are and customized to a program that works for you and you love one or ones. The obvious with my expectation level is that the house will be left better than found and your children will be fed. CPR/First Aid 2017
