I have extensive experience working with children in the educational setting as well as an after school nanny. I have always had a passion for working with children, volunteering for Challenger Baseball Leagues, Girl Scouts and community service hours in my early teenage years. My paid positions have included working as a camp counselor at sleep away and day summer camps, working for a tutoring company all over the bay area, being an after school care nanny for nearly 2 years, and most recently I was working at a Nationally Accredited Early Learning Child Development Program. I have attended conferences, learning and building skills to provide leadership to promote and advance quality care and early education. Working with programs in association with First 5 Contra Costa, the Contra Costa Child Care Council, the National Association for Family Child Care (NAFCC), the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), and the California Association for Family Child Care (CAFCC). My child care experience isn't limited to a specific age, I have and enjoy working with all ages. I have experience at the preschool academy with children ages 4 month infants to 4 years old. Working as a summer camp counselor many summers in a row and through the tutoring company I have had the pleasure to play/work with children ages 6 to 12. Also through the tutoring company I was teaching elementary, middle and high school students at their school locations, taking on the roll of an after school teacher. I have worked as a nanny for a family with two boys, ages 7 and 8 when I first met them, and to this day we consider each other family and keep in contact regularly. All of these positions have given me the opportunity to learn and build my skills in an area of passion as well as partnering with parents to promote quality care for their children.
