My name is Mikaela Heninger. I am 21 years old, and have graduated from BYU with a degree in Exercise and Wellness. I have a great desire to stay healthy and happy, and to also help others do the same. I am certified in First Aid and CPR, and have taken many classes that I believe will help me to provide excellent child care. During my four years at BYU, I competed on the women's gymnastics team and gained experience coaching children ages 4-18 through the summer sports camps offered at BYU. It has proved to be a fun summer job for the past 3 years, and has taught me a lot about working with children. During one semester, I volunteered at HeadStart, and got to work with about 20 underprivileged preschool students. I would read books to them, help them to wash their hands, eat their lunch, and clean up, I would help out during their lessons, and I would play with them. I also was a nanny this year during the month of July for two girls ages 8 and 10, and enjoyed every minute of it (well, almost every minute!). I have an 11-year-old brother that has Down's Syndrome that requires a lot of supervision, and I have helped care for him since the day that he was born! He has taught me more about patience and love than I ever thought was possible. Through him, I have learned to enjoy the journey of life, rather than be caught up in the destination. I have a current Food Handler's Permit and am passionate about cooking. My favorite place in my house is the kitchen, and I am always looking to try out new recipes! I am recently married and looking for work while my husband finishes up school at BYU. I have a very flexible schedule, as I am not currently in school. I can be reached by phone or email.
