Hi, I am looking for a family that may require a worker that has experience working with children or teenagers with developmental disabilities or various capabilities. I have over 5 years of experience working with individuals with ASD and high behavioral needs (biting, hitting, kicking, etc), as well as individuals with CP, and lifts/transfers with individuals that are wheel chair bound. I was recently a floor supervisor at a well known centre for people with ASD, and currently do respite care. I would be more than happy to discuss my experiences with you, which includes social skills programming, providing job skills, etc. for youth and young adults. Aside from working with people with disabilities, I have worked with neuro-typical children for approximately 12 years, from ages 2-15 . I was beyond fortunate to find an amazing family on here, and was a nanny for three children that are (in my biased opinion) the absolute greatest people ever! I have my First Aid/CPR C, Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Training, safeTALK ( suicid e prevention), and I know basic ASL. I am a big LGBTQ2S ally, and believe in working with all children and youth from a strength based framework, whether they have disabilities or not. I am willing to do personal care (lifts, transfers, diapers, etc.), working on social skills, and/or job skills, homework help, etc. I absolutely LOVE doing arts and crafts, baking, making massive sand castles and having epic water gun fights.
